TRUE IDENTITY OF A BELIEVER

The true identity of anyone in Christ is found in the spirit. We are no longer known by the flesh, but by the Spirit of God. Let´s talk the true identity of a believer.

2 Corinthians 5:16-17
[16]Consequently, from now on we estimate and regard no one from a [purely] human point of view [in terms of natural standards of value]. [No] even though we once did estimate Christ from a human viewpoint and as a man, yet now [we have such knowledge of Him that] we know Him no longer [in terms of the flesh].
[17]Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!

Only a father or parent has the authority to name a child. You don’t give yourself a name or an identity—doing so means you’ve stepped outside the family order.

According to Genesis, creation reproduces after its kind. But when it came to man, Genesis 1:26 records something unique: “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness.”
This refers to the spirit of man. The body was later formed in Genesis 2:7, and the soul was breathed into him.

We are made in the image and likeness of God because we carry His personality and morality—His Spirit in us. So, the man in Genesis 1:26 represents the man who has accepted Christ, the prototype—Christ Himself.

His Spirit in us brings oneness, making us sons just as Christ is. The word “son” means “God in a man.” It goes far beyond the English definition. This is what salvation truly means: the Spirit of God in a man.
When the Spirit of God enters a person, that individual is declared delivered, justified, sanctified, and purified. From that point, the Spirit begins to lead them.

Salvation can be described as the leading of the Spirit, for being led by the Spirit is the birthright of every believer. Being led by the Spirit is also a gift.

The most dangerous thing that can happen to a believer is to live without the knowledge of his identity as a new creation. The Spirit within us brings sonship and enables us to know God through the inner witness—unlike those under the Old Covenant who only knew His acts because the law wasn’t written in their hearts, and His Spirit did not dwell within them.

The greatest attack against believers is rooted on identity. If you don’t know whose you are and who you have become, you will live like a stranger. That’s why when the Holy Spirit teaches, He often repeats truth to renew our minds. The Spirit within already knows; it’s not learning anew. This shows how powerful the civilization of the flesh is—it takes repetition to break its hold.

Our spirit already knows all things and is complete, but when our mind has not been brought into the same light our spirit carries, we can’t walk in it.
Your spirit does not need to grow—it needs to show forth. Growth happens as your mind aligns with your heart and spirit in understanding.

1 Corinthians 2:11-12
[11]For what person perceives (knows and understands) what passes through a man’s thoughts except the man’s own spirit within him? Just so no one discerns (comes to know and comprehend) the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
[12]Now we have not received the spirit [that belongs to] the world, but the [Holy] Spirit Who is from God, [given to us] that we might realize and comprehend and appreciate the gifts [of divine favor and blessing so freely and lavishly] bestowed on us by God.

No one can trace God—from beginning to end—for He is eternal life. So also is everyone born of Him. Whatever is in the Spirit of God is also in our spirit.
God is a revelation, which is why He dwells in light (knowledge. We came from that light; we are the revelation of Jesus Christ. Through His life, we have fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

John 3:3-8
[3]Jesus answered him, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, that unless a person is born again (anew, from above), he cannot ever see (know, be acquainted with, and experience) the kingdom of God.
[4]Nicodemus said to Him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter his mother’s womb again and be born?
[5]Jesus answered, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, unless a man is born of water and [even] the Spirit, he cannot [ever] enter the kingdom of God. [Ezek. 36:25-27.]
[6]What is born of [from] the flesh is flesh [of the physical is physical]; and what is born of the Spirit is spirit.
[7]Marvel not [do not be surprised, astonished] at My telling you, You must all be born anew (from above).
[8]The wind blows (breathes) where it wills; and though you hear its sound, yet you neither know where it comes from nor where it is going. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.

As He is, so are we—in power, strength, and everything that pertains to Him.
Until you truly know who you are, you remain in bondage.

Until that thing sent to destroy you encounters the life of God within you, you haven’t yet become rooted in your identity. We have every advantage in this life through His life.
Many believers are still fighting shadows—things Jesus already defeated—because they have not begun to live fully in the Spirit.

Worship is not just singing; it’s a way of life. The more we worship, the more the light within us bursts forth, because true worship is done in Spirit and in truth.
When you say something is “pressing you,” there’s often a part of your life unknowingly yielding to it.
We have been called to live in the Spirit and in the truth of God—and that is how we express who we truly am.

We are far beyond the enemy’s reach because we are in Christ.
The only time he gains access is when we start believing his lies and living in the flesh.
The devil rules over certain thought patterns.

If you choose to live in those patterns, you’ll feel defeated, and the fullness of God will not manifest in you. Even prophecy and promises will begin to seem untrue.

Our reality and habitation are in the Spirit.
(Galatians 5:17)
