SALVATION MADE SIMPLE.

Many times I doubted my salvation—not because it wasn’t dramatic enough, but because I wasn’t sure. But as I grew in God, with my curiosity, I began to understand what truly makes one saved and what being saved really means.

Salvation comes from the word Soteria, which means deliverance or to be saved. It means I have been pulled out from the domain and ruling of darkness into light. So if I have received salvation, I have been saved from the powers of darkness and their consequences. I have been saved from the strength of the flesh and from the knowledge that kept men in bondage. I have been purified and made like Christ Himself.

How is this possible?
Our Deliverer is Jesus, who is the Soter. God incarnated—meaning He came in the form of a man and took upon Himself the sins of mankind and everything that kept man in darkness and bondage. He took this nature upon Himself because it is written that the wages of sin is death. So in order to liberate man from sin and death, He had to die with these upon Him.

Colossians 2:13-15
[13]And you who were dead in trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your flesh (your sensuality, your sinful carnal nature), [God] brought to life together with [Christ], having [freely] forgiven us all our transgressions,
[14]Having cancelled and blotted out and wiped away the handwriting of the note (bond) with its legal decrees and demands which was in force and stood against us (hostile to us). This [note with its regulations, decrees, and demands] He set aside and cleared completely out of our way by nailing it to [His] cross.
[15][God] disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them, in triumphing over them in Him and in it [the cross].

He died, was buried, and resurrected, then took His blood to the mercy seat and cleansed it for our sake and for all. This cleansing brought us eternal forgiveness, which means we are forever forgiven—past, present, and future—unlike the men in the Old Testament who had to offer the blood of animals for their sins and trespasses.

John 14:2
[2]In My Father’s house there are many dwelling places (homes). If it were not so, I would have told you; for I am going away to prepare a place for you
.

This cleansing brought us purification and oneness with God. It means He cleansed the inside of man with His blood so that our hearts could become His dwelling place. Wherever Jesus is, the Father is, which makes them one. Wherever Jesus is located is heaven. That’s why our bodies became the temple of the Holy Ghost, and whatever you host is who you are.

1 Corinthians 6:17
[17]But the person who is united to the Lord becomes one spirit with Him.

This cleansing brought us sanctification and right standing with God, which means our spirit has become one with God, and our soul has been given the capacity to align with our spirit as we submit it to the Spirit of God in us by conforming it to the Word of God daily. We are standing right with God, as in the place of Christ, because we have been made like Him. Everything (the Word, God’s DNA) that made Christ who He is has made us a new creation that has never been seen before.

This salvation brought sonship. Sonship means the God-life in a man. We inherited the whole of God. This can be likened to our earthly parents—we inherit their bloodline, DNA, traits, abilities, etc. In the same way, we inherited God: His bloodline, abilities, capacities, and all the possibilities in Him. What He can do, I can do. What cannot happen to Him cannot happen to me.

This salvation brought redemption and justification, which means that by His death we were paid for with His blood. We were bought back with His blood. His blood was the currency, and as a King, He declared us free from every charge that was on our record (justification). We are no longer guilty of any accusation. That is why we can stand boldly and rebuke the works and accusations of the enemy.

This salvation brought access to God and reconciliation, which means we can boldly come to the throne of grace without guilt or charge, because we are now one family with God. He is no longer far from us. We no longer have to perform certain works or sacrifices just to access Him. He dwells inside of us, both to will and to do.

This salvation brought grace. What is grace? Grace is the work someone has already done for you, for you to benefit from freely. His death, burial, and resurrection not only defeated the enemy and stripped him of his power, but also secured eternal victory for anyone who believes in Him and placed us in His stead of authority and power.

This salvation brought new life and identity. We now carry the life of God and His identity. Our identity is no longer rooted in things that are perishing or passing away, but in Him alone, as one with Him.

You are Unstoppable!

Love Ă— Abba.
