WHAT HAPPENS AFTER SALVATION?

What happens after salvation?

1 Timothy 2:4

4 who [b]wishes all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge and recognition of the [divine] truth.

Siblings in Christ, let us continuously be grateful to God for the privilege of being saved, we were.
brought to Him not by merit or anything we did or can do but by His infinite Grace and mercy. After
we have received this gift of salvation, what happens after salvation?

We don’t resume living our lives with the old mindset we’ve had before Christ, as we know our spirit.
is totally new and complete from salvation, it is this mind that needs to change even though this same mind played a part in the role of our salvation by hearing and processing what we’ve heard through the conviction of the Holy Spirit.

When we got born again, it is the spirit that had total involvement not the soul nor the body,
therefore, salvation cannot be lost. Yes, you can’t lose your salvation.

Colossians 1:9-10

For this reason, since the day we heard about it, we have not stopped praying for you, asking [specifically] that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom [with insight into His purposes], and in understanding [of spiritual things], 10 so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord [displaying admirable character, moral courage, and personal integrity], to [fully] please Him in all things, bearing fruit in every good work and steadily growing in the knowledge of God [with deeper faith, clearer insight and fervent love for His precepts];

The next thing after receiving Christ is to keep hearing and learning more of what we heard that made us believe in the first place. Growth in every aspect of life is a deliberate act of our will, it is never automatic like age which you contribute nothing to, we can see someone in faith for over twenty years but still an infant in his walk in the faith.

Acts 20:28

28 Take care and be on guard for yourselves and for the whole flock over which the Holy Spirit has appointed you as overseers, to shepherd (tend, feed, guide) the church of God which He bought with His own blood.

Spiritual growth is the essential duty of a local church where we are expected to come for church.
service to grow in the salvation we have received, that makes the greatest job of the church to reveal.
the scripture to the body of Christ in a way that brings change of thinking and perspective.

1 Peter 2:2

So put aside every trace of malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander and hateful speech; like newborn babies [you should] long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may be nurtured and grow in respect to salvation [its ultimate fulfillment], if in fact you have [already] tasted [a]the goodness and gracious kindness of the Lord.

In growing spiritually, the kind of information and who the informant is determine how we grow.
When the word is misinterpreted or wrong doctrine is taught, it will affect what and how you believe.
for a very long time that’s why the labor of studying the bible is not in the discrediting, disagreeing.
or agreeing but to travel through the scriptures (exegesis) with clear explanation until we arrive at a
right doctrine.

2 Corinthians 2:11

11 to keep Satan from taking advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his schemes

We need to get hold of the accurate word of God for our mind because we know satan plants thoughts which can become strongholds on the mind, so that this word will knock down the lies of
satan. Avoiding sound bible teaching is making yourself a prey for the enemy.

2 Corinthians 11:3

But I am afraid that, even as the serpent beguiled Eve by his cunning, your minds may be corrupted and led away from the simplicity of [your sincere and] pure devotion to Christ.

After salvation is to come to the knowledge of truth.

2 Peter 3:18

18 but grow [spiritually mature] in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory (honor, majesty, splendor), both now and to the day of eternity. Amen

Walking in the spirit is your spirit walking in your mind, so as your mind was importantly involved in.
salvation, so will your mind be involved in spiritual growth that the way you think be influenced by
the truth of the word, this will also change your conduct as you consistently apply this truth that leads to growth.

What is the dominant knowledge in your life?

Is it sport, politics or the word of truth? Whatever is the dominant knowledge in your life is what?
you’ve been disposed to, and your life will always gravitate to the direction of your most dominant.
thought.

Pay attention, your growth in Christ will not be based on experience or activities in church, after
you’ve received Christ (salvation), sit down and learn about Him whom you have been saved through.
and all He has given you, from there service to Him will flow.

We being busy in church is not growth, the experiences and some circumstances you find yourself in
are not growth, growth is having the full knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, walking in it and
increasing in that grace.

The primary place growth is demanded is in your mind (total change of mindset).
One of the key elements of Christianity (New covenant) is not trying to get something or live what the
social construct has labeled a good life but knowing what you already have (in-Christ), that is why.
Apostle Paul Prayed this prayer for the people of Ephesians which is applicable to all believers…

Ephesians 1:17-18

17 [I always pray] that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may grant you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation [that gives you a deep and personal and intimate insight] into the true knowledge of Him [for we know the Father through the Son]. 18 And [I pray] that the eyes of your heart [the very center and core of your being] may be enlightened [flooded with light by the Holy Spirit], so that you will know and cherish the [a]hope [the divine guarantee, the confident expectation] to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the [b]saints (God’s people)

This is what happens after salvation.

You are unstoppable!
Love X Uju.
