THE VISIBILITY OF GOD || THE SEEN GOD

The visibility of God – the seen God.

I have had this wrong misconception for a long time and many preacher have also taught that no man can see God, no man has seen God and no man will be able to see God, if perhaps you see Him, that His presence will consume your whole being which can actually kill you instantly. Most preachers have used the burning bush experience as an example to why we can’t see God face to face and how God did not allow Moses to see Him in other to preserve him but turned His back to proof He appeared to him, meanwhile apostle Paul referenced that part in the new testament and wrote…

It was this very Moses whom they had denied (disowned and rejected), saying, Who made you our ruler (referee) and judge? whom God sent to be a ruler and deliverer and redeemer, by and with the [protecting and helping] hand of the Angel that appeared to him in the bramblebush.
Acts 7: 35

What was thought to be God was actually an angel. The writings of the men of the old was in progressive understanding that is why it was easy for them to attribute all supernatural happening to the doings of God because they do not know any other supernatural being (it made satan veiled in the old testament), so they believed any activity that doesn’t look natural must be God or from God.

Siblings in Christ, God can be seen and we can see God.

No man has ever seen God at any time; the only unique Son, or the only begotten God, Who is in the bosom [in the intimate presence] of the Father, He has declared Him [He has revealed Him and brought Him out where He can be seen; He has interpreted Him and He has made Him known].
John 1: 18

Who is God?

We now know from the above scripture and many others that God is not different from Jesus. He is the explicit image of God. God a light being has been revealed to us in the person of Jesus who is His expressive image, “when He said let us make man in our image” – Jesus is that image.

And we [have seen and] know [positively] that the Son of God has [actually] come to this world and has given us understanding and insight [progressively] to perceive (recognize) and come to know better and more clearly Him Who is true; and we are in Him Who is true–in His Son Jesus Christ (the Messiah). This [Man] is the true God and Life eternal.
1 John 5: 20

“Let us create man in our image”, the image of what man intend to originally be is what Jesus came to show us which is also sonship – ourselves in-Christ, our original identity showing we are who He is.

Some will question, but Jesus is said to be the son of God. Yes, sonship in the scripture is not the same definition of sonship we have with our earthly father. The sonship of Jesus, is an identity, an image bearer, a truth you become. God is Jesus who expressed Himself in the person of Jesus who He called the son making sonship an identity and an inheritance. Looking to see explicit image or essence of God outside of Jesus will come to void or falsehood, He has no other identity/character than whom he has shown us in Christ Jesus.

Jesus replied, Have I been with all of you for so long a time, and do you not recognize and know Me yet, Philip? Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say then, Show us the Father?
John 14: 9

We have seen God in Jesus,
We have seen God’s character in Jesus,
If you’ve come to believe that God is Jesus and they are the same being, then you have your answer. God is seen.

[Now] He is the exact likeness of the unseen God [the visible representation of the invisible]; He is the Firstborn of all creation.
Colossians 1: 15

Jesus who is God, Has come to explain God Himself, He appeared in human form so that man can understand God in man. Jesus is not the second or third party witness, He is the witness Himself who brought the invincible God to visibility.

He revealed Himself to man so that man can stop relating to Him based on assumptions, superstitions and misconceptions.

For in Him the whole fullness of Deity (the Godhead) continues to dwell in bodily form [giving complete expression of the divine nature].
Colossians 2: 9

Christ is the understanding of God, that image or idea in our mind we think we have of God is actually Christ, that is why everyone Jesus appeared to can never give the same detailed definition of what He looks like. Let me illustrate it the best possible way I can, as an inventor, when an idea is still on your mind as a thought, e.g, whoever invented bulb light first had it as an idea, there was no image to it but when He decided its time to bring visibility to it he had to put an image to it that can be seen and touched which is the bulb we see today.

Who alone has immortality [in the sense of exemption from every kind of death] and lives in unapproachable light, Whom no man has ever seen or can see. Unto Him be honor and everlasting power and dominion. Amen (so be it).
1 Timothy 6: 16

This is how God and Jesus is, Jesus is God in an image we can see and experience.

But, He said, You can not see My face, for no man shall see Me and live. And the Lord said, Behold, there is a place beside Me, and you shall stand upon the rock, And while My glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft of the rock and cover you with My hand until I have passed by. Then I will take away My hand and you shall see My back; but My face shall not be seen.
Exodus 33: 20-23

While we now know that the face of God is Jesus and He was to be revealed at an appointed time. The contradiction we have about God is not with God but with man’s progressive understanding.

We now see God in Christ, we now know the mind of God in Christ, we now Know what God can and cannot do it.

You are unstoppable!

Love X Uju.
