Hunger is a proof of living; this is simply saying that you are not alive if you don’t get hungry.
This blog post is focusing on spiritual hunger (a realm for more). My prayer is that God will deposit His hunger in you after reading this…
Hunger is in levels, like when you are physically hungry which is in degrees which you react to in their degrees.
There are level of hunger you have that stops you from engaging in long discussions with people, there are some that leaves at giving only facial expressions still you are communicating and some kind of hunger leaves you communicating with smiles only.
When you are truly hungry your sense of smell becomes high that you can perceive the aroma of food from two miles away. Hunger is in levels and that’s same thing with spiritual hunger.
Child of God, there are certain things you cannot access in this kingdom until you are truly hungry, genuine spiritual hunger will always cause a spiritual reaction and God cannot say no to hunger.
When you are truly hungry for the move of God, a drop of heaven will be seen in your life… Let me tell you why it seems God is not using you, the only time you remember to cry to the Lord to use you is when you see someone you know being used by God then out of jealousy you cry to God to use you too, that’s not hunger sir/ma.
Genuine hunger is a cry to be filled without any concern of how the other person is being used; it’s a desire that must affect you. If you begin to get tired/bored of prayers and study, you are suffering from lack of appetite and it’s a sign you are sick and one thing about hunger is if you cry out God must respond.
Let me show you hunger…
Now there was one, Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was of a great age, and had lived with a husband seven years from her virginity;
and this woman was a widow of about eighty-four years, who did not depart from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.
And coming in that instant she gave thanks to the Lord, and spoke of Him to all those who looked for redemption in Jerusalem. The Family Returns to Nazareth.
Just because she wanted her eyes to see the coming Messiah, this woman waited in the temple day and night, that’s every day. The rule about hunger is…
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.
The rule is if you are hungry, you shall be filled. Hunger can lead you to do many things, when David was hungry, he entered the temple and ate the food he was not suppose to eat same with Jesus, when Jesus was hungry He cursed an innocent fig tree planted by another person.
Hunger will drive you to do something that normally you wouldn’t do, if you are truly hungry to be used by God, you will not be told what to do… a genuine hunger for God drove Jesus into the wilderness, you cannot be on social media 24/7 if your hunger is genuine. #spiritual hunger
For some people any time they are hungry for a new dimension, anyone close to them will know and the funny thing is they won’t even voice it out but you will just know, their actions will do that via the way they shut their door and demand alone time, fasting at this time becomes normal. Genuine hunger will drive you into place to be alone with God, genuine hunger has a voice and that voice calls out to God, a psalmist said, …Oh Lord my God, early will I seek you, in a dry and thirsty land… you have to ask God to help your appetite.
Mary Magdalene was so hungry that very early in the morning before it was dawn (before the sky became bright) she ran to the tomb to look for Jesus, what kind of hunger takes someone to a grave yard even when its dark. Hunger is in levels, no wonder peter and john ran back but she became the first person to see the risen Christ.
One thing you need to know about hunger is that He is the one that stirs up the hunger and He’s the one to fill it.
PS: Do you know that whether or not you are a pastor, praying with passion for souls every night will cause God to release upon you what even pastors don’t have… just because you are hungry. #spiritual hunger
